PHOTO PROMPT © Jellico’s Stationhouse
Being six years older, makes a lot of difference, wondered Keith. Wish I was the first born.
I’d have gotten to ride to school, with wind blowing on my face on my very own cycle.
Life isn’t fair, thought he, for I have to borrow everything from big bro.
He woke up to the chirping of birds. Still in slumber, he dragged himself outside.
Tucked beneath the stairs, was his dream cycle with a note that read,”A happy ten! With love, Big Bro”
It was then he realized that the money his brother was saving to buy a guitar was spent on his cycle. There’s no greater joy than in the joy of giving.
This is in response to Friday Fictioneers. The challenge is to write a story in about 100 words. Thank you Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for running the challenge and Jellico Stationhouse for the photo prompt. For more visit here
Dear Kitty,
Sometimes it does seem that the oldest sibling has it all. Sweet story.

As the big brother to three siblings and the owner of many guitars, your story brings shame upon me!

Well, it wasn’t meant that way. I’m sure you would have helped your siblings in some other way.

As a second sibling I always thought it was easier than being the first – less expectations! Great piece.

That’s also very true. Less expectations, fewer pressures.

Sweet. I remember being told I couldn’t have a bike because my big brother hadn’t looked after the one he’d been given, so I like a more positive sibling tale. 🙂

What a wonderful uplifting story. I remember my other brother being 18 he took me at 16 to the drive-in to watch “the Warriors” I felt like the coolest kid in the world.
