Hold Back

When in doubt,

It’s prudent not to let the words tumbling out,

Release of bundle of emotions, relief, it may be to the speaker,

But alas! The brunt borne by the listener.

Time and again,

It’s been told, so that we gain,

Speech is silver, Silence is golden,

But do we care to pay heed to those words of wisdom?

Offer we justifications, that a loved one wouldn’t mind,

But, a look of disappointment on their face, forces us to think, why can’t time just rewind?
