Expectation leads to

Thanks loniangraphics for the photo prompt.

Expectation, leads to misery. The mermaid who was sidelined because of her weirdness and mystique brought Natasha the weed of life to cure her terminal illness. She couldn’t bear the fact that a happy go lucky girl, with truckloads of friends had to go through this pain. The pain of non-acceptance from friends, the pain of illness, the pain of transcending areas unknown.

So what if people ridiculed me, this little girl taught everyone to accept me, so what if her own friends have deserted her, so what if I have to fight for her over death? I’ll leave no stone unturned.

A weed it was, but what a friendship it forged, a friendship of a lifetime.True expectation leads to misery, but a hand that helps, gets in abundance from quarters unknown.

~140 words

Acknowledgments :-Thanks PJ at Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers for running the challenge. The challenge is to write in about 175 words a story based on the prompt. For more details visit here.

Thoughts behind this story :- Many a times we feel that we were let down by the very same people we thought were friends. Fret not, for their behavior is not a reflection of you. Let the brightness in you radiate positivity for the people around.

    1. Hahaha, that wasn’t meant to be a love story .Just wanted to put forth my thought that, if we are kind to others, we will also get it in return. I’m happy you enjoyed reading it. Thank you 🙂
