The bungalow

PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll

A bungalow in the center two- storey high, surrounded by fruit bearing trees, sweet smelling flowering plants and a beautiful lawn. For years, their grandparents lived in their ancestral house, before it was out in the court, a result of dispute between the siblings.

It’s useless living in the past, chided the son.

One day, we shall acquire it back, retorted his mom.

Unable to come to terms with their present state, his mom was left to her thoughts.

Moping does no good, let’s make a home out of the shambles, answering their mother’s call, the grandchildren ran to pitch in their efforts.

100 words
