From grandmother to mother,
To daughter,
The grand heirloom, from one generation to the next,
Not documented in any text,
It was a beauty for all to behold,
Its worth more than that of gold,
Ensuring, not a scratch even be left,
Dusting and polishing, guarding vigilantly against theft,
Sometimes wondering,
Why take so much trouble?one, eternally pondering.
What use is it to keep it so clean?
If from the other world it cannot be seen,
Reflecting,
But hey! That’s the rule of nature, never procrastinating,
Put the required efforts, as much is capable of you,
The outcome not mattering much, experience making a better you.

If from the other world it cannot be seen……… reflects man’s longing and attachment to material wealth as a whole lot of emotions are attached with the heirlooms. A well composed verse reflecting reality.

Yes, indeed. I guess most of us(including myself) are guilty of having an attachment to material possessions. Thank you reading and appreciating, Kalpana 🙂

I like the sentiment in this about family treasures. “Its worth more than that of gold,” says it all.
