The Voice

PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll

Her mother had not revealed much about her father. Always, while questioning her she was met with a blank expression. All that she knew of him was that he had died while her mom was pregnant. Then, why the reluctance to share details of him with her, she often used to wonder.

413216,Yello*,Hubli** scribbled in her mother’s beautiful writing. Clutching that piece of paper fervently, she kept it for herself.

On the threshold of last ring on the other side a sweet voice drawled, “Yello!”

Did she arrive at the right voice for her answers?

<100 words

Yello* :- That’s how her father used to answer the call.

Hubli** :- A city in Karnataka state, India.

Acknowledgements :- Thank you Rochelle Wisoff- Fields for running the challenge at Friday Fictioneers. The challenge is to write in about 100 words based on the photo prompt. For guidelines please refer here. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.
