What is ours?

What is ours?

That can’t be taken away?

What is ours?

That can’t be passed on?

What is ours?

That can’t be given away?

What is ours?

That can’t be snatched away?

Does it matter?

An inventory of vices and virtues,

An inventory of wrongs and rights,

An inventory of black and white,

An inventory of unfair and fair,

Is all that matters,

There’s no dearth of goodness, to share,

There’s no dearth of care, to show,

There’s no dearth of love, to give,

There’s no dearth of happiness, to be stingy.

When life is meant to be lived well,

All that takes precedence,

Priorities or lack of it.
