A gritty tale

As,

I roam,

Vast jungles,

In search of food,

Famished eyes look for,

Something appetising,

Amidst dense foliage, deep,

A single aroma wafting,

Luring to their midst, try as I might,

Alas! fruit lay beyond my hold and grasp.

Reminiscent of their deliciousness,

Persistence guiding, not to give up,

On my hind legs, slowly I stand,

Careful not to topple tree,

Couple attempts, at last,

My favoured jackfruit,

Relish among,

Companions,

Tusker,

Turn.

Backstory :- Few days ago, I watched a video of a baby elephant, standing on its hind legs and reaching for the jackfruit. It took a couple of attempts on its part to finally claim its catch. Never to give up, the baby elephant continued till the very end. You may read about it and watch the video here. This Double Etheree is inspired from that event.
