Lifetime of memories,

Encapsulated in,

Vibrant colours,

Good old black and white,

Digital or print,

Whatever be one’s preference,

Stacking up,

In countless numbers,

Pictures take precedence,

Memories for future created,

Priorities change,

Are we missing,

To enjoy the present?

Thoughts behind the poem :- Many a times, I’ve experienced, to create memories for the future, photos are clicked in such numbers, sometimes even failing to fully enjoy the moment in hand. No doubt these pictures, provide nostalgia and we often reminisce while seeing them. It’s a juggle between memories for the future on one hand and enjoying the present on the other.

  1. I think we can always do, unless one has a photographic memory, like, we can take a picture of the scenery and then put the camera away and enjoy the day/a group photo. Moderation I think is key.

  2. It fully echoes my feelings. Many a times while visiting places of interest I wonder at people who go on a photo clicking spree oblivious of their electrifying surroundings, thereby missing to relish the moment at hand.
