Many,
Smells, savour some,
Detest others, some rare,
Others lasting indelibly,
Ageless,
Plenty,
Memories shaped,
Around smells we savour,
Other odours daren’t ponder,
Recall,
Any,
Guesses to how,
Those beyond our contact,
Space smells, fragrant, foul, odourless,
Puzzle,
Many,
Studies later,
Astronauts recollect,
Ozone, hot metal, fried steak smells,
Linger,
Mimic,
Flavour of space,
Perfume created now,
Slice of space, scent on planet Earth ,
Conserved,
Many,
Memories shaped,
Those beyond our contact,
Ozone, hot metal, fried steak smells,
Conserved.
Poetry form :- Garland Cinquain
Brief about Garland Cinquain :- This is a form of Cinquain syllable poetry with six stanzas, the first five following the Cinquain syllable count of 2/4/6/8/2 syllables and the last stanza taking lines from each of the first five stanzas. Eg of last stanza :- First line of sixth stanza is first line of first stanza, in this case ,the word many, second line of sixth stanza is second line of second stanza, in this case the words, memories shaped, so on and so forth. This is my first attempt at Garland Cinquain syllable poetry.
Idea for the Garland Cinquain :- Recently, I had read about an attempt being made to create a perfume, inspiration for this fragrance being, smell of space. This intrigued me and this perfume gave birth to my poetry. You may read about the idea behind the perfume hcolleere.
Acknowledgements :- Thank you Colleen . M. Chesebro for running the Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 185, #Poet’sChoice challenge. For rules please refer here. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.
