Born with silver spoon,
Fortunate, he was presumed,
Cursed like the rich sea,
None to hear his roaring moans,
Bottled for eternity.
Poetry form :- Tanka (5/7/5/7/7 syllables)
Note :- I didn’t participate in the previous week’s synonyms only challenge. So I have combined previous week’s and current week’s challenges. The synonyms given last week were Blessed and Hex and as a part of the challenge I’ve replaced them with their synonyms, namely, Fortunate and Cursed. Also, I’ve drawn inspiration from the picture provided above as a part of current week’s challenge. Enjoy.
Thoughts behind the Tanka :-What others see as lucky or the desired life, may be a cursed one or not that fanciful for the one living it. Many a times, the desired life, may not fulfil that person’s actual needs/ aspirations.
Acknowledgements :- Written in response to Colleen. M. Chesebro’s Colleenβs 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 187 #PhotoPrompt challenge. Thank you Sally Cronin for the beautiful picture. For rules please refer here. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.
A great challenge taken and bottled was a lovely poem.

Beautiful Tanka. I liked the explanation below it. A lovely reminder not to judge people based on what we see on the outside.

We often don’t know what goes on within someone’s life and beneath the surface. Well done with using both prompts!
