Conquest

Everlasting flames,

Shine beyond those misty mountains,

Boon never before granted,

It guarantees to bequeath,

To those daring to conquer,

Demonic vice of greed.

Path would seem clear,

To the one devoid of greed,

Else,

Dance of mist,

Would engulf them whole.

He says,

“Conquering greed, I’ve come to meet thee”,

Innocence of mist lets him in,

Shielding greed through his exuberant demeanour,

He tries to bottle everlasting flame,

She swallows him whole,

If not greed, what brings you here?

Everlasting flame cherishes,

Greed perishes.
