From dark alleys,
A light evolves,
Unknown, I am of the bearer,
A blurry haze covers my line of sight,
Unknown, I am of the path,
Criss- cross obstacles adorn the road,
Unknown, I am of the destination,
Long it seems, without any foreseeable end,
This tiny speck of light emerges,
Grows into a huge cover of brightness,
Skeptical, I am of its power,
I know not,
A ray of light from a distant star is enough to brighten a room,
Skeptical, I am of its hope,
I know not,
Against the backdrop of darkness, light shines,
Skeptical, I am of its accomplishment,
I know not,
How a candle sacrifices itself to light a room,
From dark alleys of a womb, a tiny life evolves,
A mother is born, providing warmth for a lifetime.
135 words.
Let the light shine. Happy Deepavali.

Thank you , Nima. Inspired by your descriptive style of writing poems, even I thought of elaborating my poem. So from 75 words, I stretched it to 135 words. Thanks for the inspiration. Wishing you and your family a Happy Deepavali. 🙂
