Just a thought ; Choosing not to

Cows wouldn’t part with milk,

Monkeys would be possessive of berries,

Fish would barricade the seas,

Elephants would hide ivory,

Foxes would camouflage fur,

If animals understood money,

They’ll give us a run for it, surely,

We would be in cages,

But are we of use to them that they’d hold us locked for long?

World without money,

If I care to imagine,

Would be as simple as cherishing life itself,

Instead of sweating over property and possessions.

Alas! it’s just but a wish,

That obliterates sooner than the glow from a birthday candle,

The so reckoned simpler animals,

Are probably laughing at one of the most complexly created creature’s ignorance,

Seeing us imprisoned by our vanity,

Without understanding to live freely and fully,

They choose not to understand money.

130 words.

Wishing our gracious host, Dear Sadje, a wonderful birthday of 23/11/2020. Wishing you happiness in the years to come!
