To be with you

P.C :- Timur Kozmenko

The tender freshness of spring brings in no special cheer,

The colours of summer have long been lost,

My heart is barren like dried hues of autumn,

Cold and distant like winter’s chilly grasp.

Hard as I nudge myself to be distracted,

The scent of you doesn’t seem to budge from my memories,

Now nights seem far too long and hollow,

And the days glee in stealing my optimism and light.

Melancholia is my friend now,

I only talk to the moon and stars,

In the hope they bring me to you,

Have they ever conveyed my searching glance for you?

I’m no longer scared of the dark,

They cease to be foreboding,

The screech of owl is a sign, the end nearing,

Just like the night you were taken away,

Please do me a favour,

Hug me tight when I meet you now,

That’s sure to make me warm once again,

This heart has only grown cold since your parting,

I can’t wait any further,

Nothing would do us apart,

As we had promised each other,

Riding on this owl, I come to be with you, now.
