Flaunting time

P. C :- Sue Vincent

As their mark on time on Earth,

The rocks flaunt their fossils,

The trees flaunt their rings,

Nature flaunts her seasons,

It’s time to ring another year in my calendar of life,

Old one waltz past,

I look around for flaunt- worthy trinkets marking my time on Earth,

Lo and behold! Silver tresses, replacing pale black ones,

Romancing with time is bittersweet.

  1. Unfortunately, ageism is increasing in society. Age-shaming is a phenomenon not spoken about, but it exists.

“Oh, you are 40! I thought you were our age…”, and then a gradual distancing. I’ve lived through so much more.

The flowers of the fiction plant rooted in my brain, the voice of the inexpressible feelings hidden in my heart and the eruption of the theories burning in my mindโ€“ I made a ball out of the three, threw it high into the sky and it landed right at my blog.
