To whose quest are you dancing thus?
Amid blueness of skies,
And greenness of earth,
Wings of conquest that you flap,
Amid turbulence of winds that now relentlessly blow,
To whose quest are you dancing thus?
Your partner is neither here for you to impress,
Nor your competitor is here for you to suppress,
In your helplessness:
You find your impromptu solo waltz,
Amid turbulence of winds that now relentlessly blow,
As the ever inviting homebound sky,
Turn a hostile dark :
Suddenly devoid of all light,
While you find your impromptu solo waltz,
Melodious chirping of parrots, cuckoos, mynahs,
Suddenly stop,
Amid turbulence of winds that now relentlessly blow,
The spirited wind is unaware of,
A regal Kite,
Unable to find his anchor,
It blows mercilessly,
Catapulting everything in its hold,
I pray you gather foothold,
Amid skies that’ve turned hostile,
Amid turbulence of winds that now relentlessly blow.
149 words.
Thoughts :- For the past few days winds have been mercilessly blowing here, and it’s a helpless sight to see the mighty Kites unable to gather foothold in their flight.
“To whose quest are you dancing thus?” I have let these lines be, even though grammatically it doesn’t make much sense.
Acknowledgements :- Thank you Bjorn for hosting MTB Waltzing at dVerse. The challenge says, ” Let dance be your poem”. For rules please refer here. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.

Lovely turns of phrase, Kitty. I particularly liked: To whose quest are you dancing thus / homebound sky / you find your impromptu solo waltz ๐

Solo dancing is pure freedom ….. lovely poem.

I love the repeated ‘To whose quest are you dancing thus?’ I think this works very well for this mysterious solo-flight holding pattern.

I enjoyed the connection of a raptor tossed in the wind to a waltz. I live under bald eagles and I’m sure I’ll be imagining them waltzing next time I see them in the wind.
