Curious Suppandi

Suppandi - Wikipedia
P.C :- Wikipedia

Suppandi*, curious about things around,

Was ridiculed for his quirky ways,

Once, he decided to clean a bowl of vegetables, using bar of soap,

We laughed at his ways,

How wrong we’d been all these years,

He indeed was a soothsayer, leading by example!

Suppandi* :- Suppandi, the protagonist of the comic strip, published under the same name is an evergreen part of Tinkle Comics. Always curious about things around him, he questions their existence and functioning. When told about ways of the world, he finds his own way to interpret and work with it. One such incident is that of him washing vegetables with a bar of soap for hygienic reasons, and he’s ridiculed for doing so with a bar of soap . We aren’t actually doing the same now, but yes, we are sanitising the veggies, in these Covid times. So, I guess he was a soothsayer, well ahead of his times. Poor fellow, he was always ridiculed!

  1. How nostalgic this post is! I’ve been an avid reader of Tinkle during my school days. You’re right. Suppandi seems to have foreseen future. Great take on the prompt, Aishwarya! ๐Ÿ˜€
