Facing backwards

I have stood many a time at the doorway of dreaming, facing backwards,

The rustling of leaves, pause for a moment,

Acknowledging mere rhythm of my dreams within,

Capering like clouds, flitting between rainbows,

I gasp to find a meaning; at the doorway,

Only to be pushed backwards,

Reality ushers, a deja vu nonetheless,

Rustling of leaves continue; it’s a reality now,

Those delicate flowers that were trampled,

The weight of their beauty crushed instead of being admired,

The pink rose plant only has thorns to show she fought back before giving up,

Those delicate flowers that were trampled,

Without being heard.

  1. This is gorgeously rendered, Kitty! 😀 I especially love; “I gasp to find a meaning; at the doorway/Only to be pushed backwards/Reality ushers, a deja vu nonetheless/Rustling of leaves continue.” Thank you so much for writing to the prompt. 💝💝
