I linger

I linger around memories which leave a scent effervescent,
Feasting on mind are fragrances sweet as champak flower,
How long life sustains in glory of past?
That which is gone is a skeleton without shadow,
Unlocking with keys lost, a mere prisoner of memories.

Poetry form :- Gogyohka and Quadrille ( I’ve combined the Gogyohka form of Japanese poetry ( which requires a poem to contain five or six lines with unrestricted syllable count )and Quadrille poetry form ( a creation of dVerse poets pub , which requires the word limit to be restricted to 44 words, including the prompt word.)). Hope you enjoy my take.

Acknowledgements :- Thank you Linda Lee Lyberg for hosting Quadrille# 136 at dVerse ( Word :- Linger and word limit :- 44), Thank you Colleen. M. Chesebro for hosting Ekphrastic challenge at Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday Challenge and Thank you Merril. D . Smith for choosing the prompt photo. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.
