Cruising, cruising

cruising, cruising,
who’s behind this thin veil?
superior self,
green ogre of bloated self swims around,
touch of empathy, if only we could.

cruising, cruising,
who’s behind this mirror,
copy of myself,
do i see in all?
how about flavours
sun- moon two different beings, beaming,
like their unique light, if only we could.

Form :- Duodora (4/6/5/5/5/10/10 syllables ; rhymed Axxxxxb Axxxxxb L1 is repeated as a refrain that begins the 2nd stanza. x is unrhymed; written in 2 septets, L1 of the first septet is repeated as L1 of the 2nd septet.)

  1. Kitty, your duodora is complex and I had to read it a few times. What I think you’re urging is self-acceptance, which makes it easier to accept others? Candy corn challenge met and the swimming “green ogre of bloated self” sounds very Halloweeny to me πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you very much, Li. Yes, like you said it is about accepting self, not comparing ourselves with others, basically being at peace with our unique self . Thank you for introducing yet another different form, couldn’t resist writing to it. πŸ™‚

  2. “who’s behind this mirror,
    copy of myself,”

That’s who we need to embrace, then we can truly be ready to greet others

  3. Gorgeously rendered! πŸ˜€ I especially like the image; “superior self, green ogre of bloated self swims around.” Some people tend to be like that.
