As april sun bears down heavily,
Cacophony of confusion is rested,
In this fortress of solitude,
Silence is its soulful empress,
A palmist offers to read familiar lines of my palm,
Conjuring fortunes beyond moons,
Delving into deep philosophies this late afternoon,
I’m transported to a place when a princess would have walked these silent corridors,
Dancing in glee, ah! a time long ago,
The brocades, pearls, silver , she would’ve flaunted,
Splendour and grandeur of a time long ago,
Now, a fortress of solitude.
