Cuckoo calls

I keep abandoning the pen for lack of ideas. There are a plethora of random words which don’t string themselves to proper sentences to my satisfaction. Am I being too critical of my work or am I conscious as to how it’ll be received. But, as they say, the solution lies not in abandoning the pen, but in writing and making mistakes and becoming better.

cuckoo calls daily,
i suppose not to be heard,
as much for herself,
with new tunes she sharpens,
and effortlessly regales.

Form :- Tanka Prose ( Prose accompanied by a Tanka)

  1. Yes! The drive to keep writing is the only way to hone your skill and to be able to sift through revisions and rewrites! I’ve sent poetry out into the world that I’m less than happy with. Amazingly 2 or so years later I read it and realize that with a simple word replacement the meter or the rhyme is corrected and it now works much better! I think you have hit upon a very solid truth!!
