Let me be

I adore darkness, it lets me be and shine my light,

Trying to fit in, trying to be part of crowd-

loses its sheen once you realise worth of your uniqueness,

When you are kept out of discussions,

when you are told you are left out because you won’t understand,

even being told told you are nice- hurts at times,

Yet other times it isn’t the spoken words-

It’s the actions that make you feel an outsider among “friends”,

Yes, actions speak louder than words,

I tried to be, I can’t be-

happy to be a firefly in the darkness,

I adore darkness, it lets me be and shine my light.
