Those who live with us, we treasure less,
Those who depart, are forever in our thoughts,
We cry, weep, honour them in our memories,
We recount incidents and mourn,
If only we acknowledge them, while they were here.
They share the same canvas, but sun and moon hardly interact,
Things left unsaid haunt more, than those done and dusted,
Are we running away from the known;
or bumping into the inevitable?
In this quagmire we blissfully exist.
Dabbling in a world of illusions we fail to live,
The present is forever vaporised-
into this cosmos that’s evolved over a zillion years,
They share the same canvas, but sun and moon hardly interact,
Things left unsaid haunt more than those done and dusted,
The tiger chases the deer and wins, yet
Knowing all of this,
We want to be right all the time in situations out of our control,
Those who live with us, we treasure less,
Those who depart, are forever in our thoughts till our last breath,
Do we safeguard the bubble or allow it to burst?

This is a profound poem Kitty. You have written of an issue that is often ignored. Value people while you have them and not wait till they are gone to mourn them. Thanks for joining in.
