The eye absorbs what it wants to see,
Ignoring sagacity of mind,
and turbulence of heart .
The eye scripts versions of images it sees,
of those, seen and unseen moments of time,
it perceives a limited vision, a vision nonetheless,
the counsel of inclusiveness hardly concerned.
The eye processes images,
sieves for beauty wherever it goes,
neglecting unpleasantness around.
The eye searches for familiarity,
eager to please,
discards the unknown,
converging in the known.
constantly watching,
constantly on the lookout,
In a limited view,
Each eye thrives,
Would they at the least agree with one other,
A matter for consideration.

Great take Kitty. The eye is what gives us the power to perceive the seen and the unseen. Thanks for joining in.

The last lines brought to mind a woman who has a wandering eye – you were never sure if she was looking at you or not!! I can’t imagine the mental confusion… Lovely poem and contemplation on vision!
