In stillness of the winter night, enormity of day fades away. Generations, sit by the fireside comparing notes on what used to be and what it is now.
We may improve for the better or deteriorate for the worst, but warmth of heart sustains it all. Just like winter, bitter at first but all accommodating.
I seek light from waxing crescent moon, keeping company on a night, when even my shadow abandons me for good.
aloof winter warmth,
encapsulates forgotten,
colours of rainbow.

A great Haibun. I love the way you show that winter encapsulates the rainbow colors!

I like how you take us back to the survivors who made it through, and then look to the immediate future and the hope/joy of the promise of the rainbow, i felt a ‘colour my world’ sense to this.

A agree with Jane… it must be hard to find colors in winter.
