A sigh of yesterday’s rain,
as moon dances her way out of bright night sky, high,
leaving fragments of her earthy self,
hangs low on petrichor filled lanes.
A sense of nostalgia renders slow
and deep, counting fallen petals of
sun kissed May flower etched in memories
of time and again, she falls and awakens.
A river’s silent roar, pregnant with yesterday’s rain,
kisses the sidewalk overflowing
with footsteps of man, mole and machine
as they chase one another in rue of time.
A day spent watching memories made and broken
on the sidewalk, coconut trees teem with delight,
she carries her burden in those tiny delights
overflowing with yesterday’s rain.
