Across the lands of elf,
lived a dragon named self
some said he was fierce
flaming red, his eyes did pierce,
he was ousted by his superstitious father
when young, under the able care of his mother,
he grew up a strong and tender dragon, “gold”
was his moniker, guarding fortress of bold
he stood for right, against the father who ousted for
the old dragon believed his son would wage war on him
when he came to power, gold’s childhood was grim
but he never did whine or pity, he always did swim
against the odds, and lived up to his mother’s name
who forever stood for his noble cause in flame’s fame.

A dragon with a heart of gold indeed. One who never sought wars and battles in a bid to get justice for his hardships. Beautifully written, Aishwarya

A gold dragon tale in rhyming couplets, Kitty, what is not to enjoy? A traditional treasure dragon, a difficult father-son relationship, and a courageous mother’s son, all make for a great story.
