Alas! Why?

P.C :- Sue Vincent

Are you in a hurry?

Why don’t you just stop for a moment?

Tardy a little, let me interact with you awhile,

Are those secrets that you are carrying?

Why can’t I make sense of anything you say?

Tone down your decibel, let me hear you awhile,

Are those on the other side excited to meet you?

Why are you enigmatic?

Uncloak your mystery, let me feel your aura awhile,

Are you trying to run away from me?

Why are you indifferent?

Understand my concern, let me be happy with you awhile,

In haste you may be,

Numerous agendas you may have,

For a while,

Please lend me your ear,

I can’t travel as fast as you,

While you are gone,

Until you arrive,

I’ll be waiting for you here in eagerness,

Never disappoint your admirer,

Into nothingness as you go,

Part I, with a cherry smile,

Ever changing mighty wind.

151 words.

Thoughts behind the piece :- The last few days, here in Bangalore, India, it’s been very windy. As if The Wind is trying to communicate something with me. With, Mr Wind as my inspiration I penned down this piece.

Acknowledgements :- Thank you Sue Vincent for running the #writephoto challenge and providing this beautiful picture. The challenge is to take inspiration from the picture above and write a piece. For rules please refer here. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.

  1. This is so beautiful!
I had a similar inspiration this morning while sitting on my verandah, sipping tea and going through an old poem of mine. Will write it shortly in form of a Haiku, in response to this prompt.

    Loved your! 🙂
